Order of Service 15th March 2020

15 March OOS 20

A warm welcome is extended to everyone this morning and especially to any visitors worshipping with us today.

Young Church will leave after the second hymn to enjoy their activities in the hall downstairs, whilst the crèche for under 3’s meets in the crèche room.

Tea and coffee will be available downstairs at the close of the service and we hope as many people as possible will stay and enjoy the chat.

Please take a few minutes to read the screens as there may be information, which was received too late for the printed intimations.

The Friendship Club committee has decided to cancel their annual outing in May due to a poor uptake in numbers and also with the current situation regarding the corona virus. We regret having to do this but we think it is the proper course of action to take.

Members who have already paid will be reimbursed at our final meeting of the session on Thursday.

The Guild Concert by Loudoun Musical Society is on Friday 27th March at 7.30 in the Church, tickets £5 from Guild Members.  All proceeds to the Guild Project

Holy Week
This year’s town centre Holy Week services will be held from April 6 to 10 at 7 p.m. in St Andrew’s and St Marnock’s Church. Everyone is welcome to join in a Good Friday Walk of Witness around the town centre. This will begin at the Salvation Army in Sturrock Street at 10.45 a.m. and will arrive at New Laigh Kirk in time for the Good Friday Vigil there from 12 noon until 3 p.m. Come when you can and go when you must.

As part of looking at the young people in the church, we urgently need new volunteers to share in the leadership of Young Church to allow the current leaders to have the occasional Sunday off to be part of morning worship.  We are planning to have a cinema Sunday on the 1st Sunday of the month and would ask for volunteers to take a turn at supervising this event.  If you would be interested in volunteering, please speak to one of the Young Church Leaders for more information about what is required.

Last Sunday is a new venture that we are going to try to encourage families to do church in a different way.  It will take the format of an early family gathering on the Last Sunday of the month.  It will start at 9.30 for about 45 minutes and will involve a simple breakfast with a Bible Story and prayer. On those Sundays there will be no Young Church during morning worship and this will enable the Young Church Leaders to attend morning worship.
